Copenhagen Youth Project (CYP) provides a safe, caring, youth-led space for disadvantaged young people from the Caledonian & Barnsbury ward of North London. Since starting out 15 years ago as a grassroots local effort, they have helped over 1,000 young people to learn new skills, improve their mental health and build towards a brighter future.
We first worked with CYP to create a new three-year business plan and accompanying fundraising strategy, as well as a new case for support. Then, building on this work, we helped write their successful National Lottery Reaching Communities application, securing around £220,000 over three years towards their employability work.
For several years, we provided ongoing bid writing support to CYP, funded by one of their generous long-term funders. During this time, CYP secured £210,000 in new income through a combination of project grants, core funding and Covid-19 emergency funding, ensuring a very healthy return on their investment in fundraising. This includes grants from household name funders such as London Community Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation and Postcode Society Trust.
This funding success enabled CYP to sustain and keep developing the charity’s core youth work, online support during the pandemic, an outreach programme for young people affected by trauma, and their popular football programme.

"Lime Green Consulting have been great to work with - they listen and take the time to understand your organisation and its needs and put a compelling application together. They are knowledgeable and worth investing in to free up your time to spend running the organisation.
We still use our fundraising plan and adapt this each year. We update our case for support, keeping the original format. This work has been invaluable to us. The current fundraising support that you provide is helping the charity go from strength to strength, helping with our cash flow and longer-term funding."
Theo Thomas, Finance & Personnel Manager, Copenhagen Youth Project
